It's a new semester, and that means we're recruiting new members for the Tech Ed Club!!
We have a lot of exciting things planned this semester, including industry tours, workshops, and volunteer opportunities! Club meetings will be on Wednesdays at 12pm in Reid 422. We look forward to seeing you there!! We were fortunate to be able to tour Split Mountain Metals in Belgrade this last week!
They showed us around the shop, ran their custom-built PlasmaCAM, and demonstrated their powder-coating process for us! We also got to see the National Christmas Tree Star, which they were commissioned to build for the National Christmas Tree in Washington, DC for Christmas 2017! We are starting to work on our robots!
MSU Tech Club works with VEX Robotics to compete every year in the annual games. This year, the VEX Competition is called "In the Zone" and involves stacking cones on permanent and mobile goals. We must build and program the robots to interact with the specified VEX arena both user-controlled and autonomously. We are currently building the chassis of the robot, and will soon start programming it to do what the competition requires. Once the robot is complete, we will be traveling to Atlanta, GA for the annual TEECA Competition. We've gone through leadership changes, and our members are starting to leave for student teaching and graduation, which means we have started to recruit new members!
While we are part of the College of Education, Health, & Human Development, members from all majors are welcome! We meet on Wednesdays at 10am in Reid 422. Join us, bring your ideas, and help us be the best we can be! |
